More Beach!

We took a 3-day weekend and went to Carolina Beach.  Christin, Jason, Amanda, Jake and Jeff and I all had a great time soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean!  We grilled hot dogs on the beach for lunch and ate plenty of good food.  It was a great, relaxing weekend.  On Saturday, we met up with Anna and Drew Strader and their 2 kids, Levi & Emmie.  Levi just finished his kindergarten school year, and Emmie is 3 years old.  Needless to say, they were the bulk of the entertainment on Saturday, and we all enjoyed playing and laughing with them!  We took a bunch of pictures!  Check 'em out:

24 weeks and Father's Day

Yes, last Thursday put us at 24 weeks!  Evan is moving a lot and growing so much!  It's like she has dance parties in my belly sometimes.  Jeff and I have seen her either kicking or pushing out to make my belly jump---it's AWESOME!  And last night she was thumping around and I called Jeff over to feel her....he felt her and then started talking to her, and she thumped him right back.  He spoke to her again and she tapped back again!  It was so sweet....Oh, I can't wait to see her again!
I have gained about 10 lbs so far.  I'm happy about that, and I think it's right where I'm supposed to be.

Here is what is going on at 24 weeks:

Your baby isn't just sitting around (on your bladder) doing nothing, he's working hard preparing for life outside the womb—perfecting his lungs and packing on the pounds. He'll gain 1/2 pound this week alone.
Other highlights this week:
  • Things are starting to get a little crowded inside the old womb as baby grows bigger and bigger. Your ribs are probably pining away for the good old days when they didn't have a foot permanently lodged between them. Hate to break it to you, but it's going to get worse before it gets better.
  • Your baby's ears are fully functional now. And since they are, you may notice that loud noises and sudden movements can startle the little bugger. He's getting used to the everyday sounds inside the womb: the sound of your heart beating, your lungs inhaling and exhaling air, the growling of your stomach because your partner promised he'd be right back with that double cheeseburger and he's taking forever! He'll even be able to hear your voice when your partner finally arrives and you ask him where the bleep he's been! So talk nice!
  • Baby's got a fully developed inner ear now. This means his sense of balance is working and he can tell whether he's hanging upside down or right side up. He can also feel you moving, so go ahead, pop in your favorite tunes and boogie.
  • Your little Wiener schnitzel is about the length of a foot-long Chicago hot dog and weighs about 1 1/3 pounds.

Here is the belly pic at 24 weeks:

On Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day.  Dad is in Alabama working, but we called him and spoke to him for a while.  I know he wishes he was back home, but he will be soon!  We drove to Durham to eat dinner with the Jennings side of the family and Mom came up to meet us.
Here is the little gift that Evan and I made for Jeff (you need to click on it to make it big enough to read!)  I put it in a frame for him!:

Evan is one lucky girl to have such a wonderful Daddy already!  :)

We are heading to Carolina Beach again this weekend---woohoo!!  Amanda, Jake, Christin and Jason will be there too and we can't wait!  Pictures will be posted later on!  Ready to soak up some more sun!!

Beach and other things!

Man, oh man, have we been busy!  But we love it!  :)

Ok, so Jeff went back to work at CJT on May 26th.  They were happy to have him back (duh) and of course he was happy to be back.  It's such a great work environment there, and I know he's glad to be working again!

I started working at Studio You in Roxboro on June 2nd.  So far, it has been amazing!  Lianna and Allison have been wonderful to work with, and I am just excited to do whatever I can to help them out.  Now that it's been about a week into working there, things are starting to get on track (my computer and internet), and I can really get into a groove of getting things done.  Jeff and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity for me to work with some great girls, close to home, and on a flexible schedule.  :)  Love, love, love it!  :)

Jeff and I also have painted to kitchen, dining room and laundry room!  It looks great!!  I know I keep talking about posting before and after pictures...but I will probably do one big before/after post once we complete all the rooms we'd like to paint.  So it will be a little while!  The next room on our list is Evan's!  Her room will be a pale yellow to match her bedding.  I can't wait!  :)

This past weekend we took our first beach trip to Carolina Beach with Amanda and Jake.  Here are a few pictures:

Today we are 23 weeks pregnant! No belly picture simply because you can see it from the beach pictures above.  :)  Here is what's going on this week:

Highlights this week:

  • Fat production is in overdrive at this point (for the baby, not you! Well, OK, maybe for the baby and you). Your baby will basically double in weight over the next four weeks! You'll be happy to know the same won't apply to you.
  • Your Mini is starting to look more like a newborn as her skin becomes less see-through. Her body is looking more proportional now, although her head is still kinda big compared to her cute little body.
  • Your baby is about 11 1/2 inches long and weighs 1 pound, or about the length and weight of a Harry Potter book.
Went to the doctor for our check up yesterday and everything was normal and healthy.  Next appointment is in 4 weeks on July 6th.  Can't believe how fast everything is going now!  Hopefully I can keep up with my posts better in the weeks to come!  Thanks for checkin up on us!!  :)
