Party at my crib

Evan spent her first night in her crib, in her room this week.  She could care less, but it was a much bigger deal for mama and daddy.  She's been sleeping through the night since she was about 5 weeks old, so it hasn't been a big deal about having her close by in our room to feed her or anything....we just liked having her in the room with us!  But I will say that it's nice to have our bedroom back to ourselves again.  We can walk around and talk without worrying about waking her up.  Jeff and I stayed awake and talked for a whole hour the first night she slept in her own room.  And we can finally make use of the monitors we got from one of our showers (they work great!).

We bought some rice cereal to start feeding her soon too.  I'm not sure when we'll try it for the first time, but I'll be sure to post about it when we do!  :)

Here are a few pictures from this past week:

Visit with Mr. Brantley!

Our good friends, Preston and Lorie, had their little boy only a couple weeks after Evan was born.  We visited them at the hospital shortly after Brantley arrived, and we saw him at a church basketball game a while later.  But the first time we actually got to visit with him was this week!  He is such a cute little fella, and I hope that he and Evan can grow up and be close friends, even though they'll go to different schools.

Here are a few pictures from our visit:

It was so nice to have "baby talk" with the Roysters.  It's so funny that that is ALL we pretty much talked about....but hey, that's what we're all about these days!  And we love it!  :)  Lorie goes back to work full time this coming week, so I know it will be a difficult change for her.  Thinking of you, Lorie!!  :)

Evan also started hanging out in her Bumbo seat a lot more this week.  She's actually pretty content sitting in it and playing with toys.

And this next picture just cracks me up.  I forgot about the flash and the shadow of the car seat bar went straight across her head!  But she's still cute!  :)

We got to see Evan's 3 month pictures yesterday!  They turned out great!  I could look at them all day long.  We narrowed it down to the ones that we love and hopefully will have them up on display at our home soon.  Alrighty, gotta run!  There's my update for this week!  haha  :)

3 months

Oh wow, I have been SLACKING about writing on our blog!  Sorry!

Evan is now 3 months old and we can't believe it!  She is developing a little personality and is the sweetest girl in the whole world.  She loves to smile at people and giggle sometimes too.  She is starting to really hold on to her toys and figure them out.  And when she holds on to them, she likes to bring them to her mouth!  I hope she doesn't start teething anytime soon, but she's starting to drool more too.  She enjoys sucking on the back of her hands.  She can really hold her head up like a pro.  It's so much easier to hold her now, and all she wants to do is look around at everything.  We sat her in her bumbo seat and she stayed in it for quite a while and was very content!  I can't believe how much she changes everyday.  We also set up her jumparoo and we place her in there every now and then to let her see the toys.  She kicks her feet, but we have a rolled-up mat under it so her feet can touch.  In another couple of months, I know she will really enjoy it!
Last night she rolled from her back to her side for the first time.  She is always lifted her feet up and grabbing them with her hands, so it wasn't a big surprise that she was going to roll to the side sometime soon!  She isn't a big fan of tummy time still, but she'll do it for a little bit.  I'm not rushing her rolling over because it's still nice to lay her down and know she'll stay like that if I have to walk away.  :)

Here are few pictures from recently:

Laughing some more
...and we ended with her "poop" face...haha

Below is a video we caught of her giggling at Jeff one evening...

As you can see, she is a HAPPY baby!  We are truly blessed to have her in our lives.
She is still doing great as far as sleeping through the night goes.  We will probably be trying to feed her a little rice cereal sometime soon and see how she likes it.  And since she's sleeping through the night so well, we will probably move her to her crib at night soon and move the cradle out of our bedroom...but Jeff and I have both said we will kind of miss her being in the room with us.  It feels like yesterday when we came home with her!  But we're trying to take in every little new thing she does.  I'm so excited to see what this year has to bring!  AND I'm kind of getting ready for spring and summer to get here so we can do things outside!  BUT I would like at least 1 snow day before winter goes away....we shall see I guess!  :)
