Christmas is coming!

Christmas is 2 weeks away today!  Evan got to visit Santa at the studio on Friday.  I was worried she would be screaming and crying and not want to sit on his lap, but she did GREAT!  :)  Here is her picture:

I'm so excited about Christmas this year because Evan will be getting several things that I know she will LOVE and she will be so ready to play with them.  It's hard not to spend a ton of money on things for her.  haha!

We took a trip to Boone this past weekend to help volunteer with Operation Christmas Child.  Our church went and we had a group of about 20 people.  It was a great experience and I hope we get to do it again next year!  We shared a room with David and Steffi and their little girl, Chloe.  Here are a few pictures of the girls in their pj's:

Baby J#2 is due July 2, 2013 and we are VERY excited!!!  :)  We know Evan will be the best big sister in the world!  Can't wait!!

Check Up!

Evan went for her 13 month check up last week.  She weighed in at 18 lbs 2 oz. (5 %), and measured 28.5 inches tall (15%).  She is perfectly healthy, and just on the petite side!  She also got 3 vaccines and the first half of her flu shot that day.  She did great, and only cried during the shots....She was waving and smiling at everyone when we left.  :)

Sorry about the huge delay in updating our blog!

To say we've been busy is an understatement.  Evan is now almost 13 months old, and she is walking!

Here are a couple of videos showing off her moves:

She had a wonderful birthday party with lots of her little friends down by our family pond.  It was such a gorgeous day, and we had lots of fun!

She is now wearing size 4 diapers and eating ALL kinds of food.  Home girl LOVES some broccoli!  :)  We try to feed her a balanced diet now that she has been off of formula for a while.  She seems to be doing great.  She goes for her 1 year check up at the doctor a week from today.

We went to visit Granny this past weekend in Tarboro.  Here is a picture from the visit:

Evan can say DaDa all day long and she says MaMa too.  She knows "Tucker" but thinks that all dogs are called Tucker.  She can also say "cracker".  She knows where her foot, belly, hands, mouth, ear, and hair are.  And she can hold up one finger to tell you how old she is.  She LOVES bath time (of course).  And just this past week she has moved up to her big girl carseat that faces forward.  She LOVES it now that she can look out the window while we ride!

More Summer Fun!

Evan had her 9 month portraits done last week.  They turned out GREAT!  Here are a few from the session:

We also had a great playdate with Mr. Brantley this past Friday.  They played in the baby pool and Brantley even let Evan swing in his swing!  She loved it!  Here are some pictures:

We are going camping in the mountains this weekend.  It will be Evan's first camping trip!  We'll see how that goes.  We're looking forward to the cooler, mountain air and swimming in some mountain river water!  Pictures will come soon, I'm sure!

9 months

 

Evangeline is 9 months!  The picture above is her monthly photo in the crib.  We finally lowered her crib last week now that she is pulling up on EVERYTHING and crawling everywhere!  The picture below is at her 9 month check up.  She weighed in at 16.02 lbs (10%) and she was 27 inches long (30%).  She is still our perfectly petite little girl and we love it!  :)

Way overdue!

Evan will be 9 months next week.  But here is her 8 month picture:

She is standing up on her own all the time(with the assistance of something to hold on to).  She is getting in the crawling position a lot more now and not fussing, so we will see if she starts to crawl or not.  She LOVES to walk while holding your hands, or by holding onto anything.  She still loves to clap when she gets excited.  She will wave at everyone now, and she's just started giving hi-fives to everyone.  We're working on blowing kisses next.  haha  :)  We are giving her small finger foods to try to get her to feed herself more.  She is starting to get the hang of it.  She only has 2 teeth on the bottom front.  But I think she is working on a top tooth which might show itself sometime soon. 

We went to Lake Gaston back on June 9-10.  It was Evangeline's first lake trip.  She had a blast and loved her new float.  Here are some pictures:

We just went back to the lake yesterday for July 4th.  I will post those pictures later.  We are going to the beach tomorrow for a week, so there will be tons of pictures to upload when we get back.

Evan got to meet her great-great Aunt Love the other week also.  Aunt Love is Grandma Sybil's Aunt.  Here are a couple of pictures:

We also went to a small baby pool party the other weekend.  Allison and Brantley Satterfield hosted and the baby girls had fun splashing and just playing with each other.  Here are a few pictures:

I can't wait to see all of these girls grow up together!  We're so blessed to know so many people with babies around the same age....it will be fun to have birthdays and sleep overs in the years to come!  :)

We also hosted a baby shower for Jake & Amanda last weekend.  Mom, Chicky and I worked to decorate everything and have an ice cream party for them.  We needed something cold, because it ended up being 107 degrees on the day of the shower!  Thank goodness for air conditioning!  Here are a few pictures from their shower:

And here are the final 2 pictures I will post today.  Evan was having a ball playing the tambourine with mom, so we had to snap a picture.  And then, the other day, she was being cute standing and playing with her leap frog table, so I snapped another quick picture.  She is hilarious and sweet and I love her so much!  She is growing WAY too fast!!!!
